Boat Beach at Seal Rocks near Wattley Hill

BEACHES

There are nine beaches within 20 minutes drive of Wattley Hill. Each of the beaches below links to the Google Map reference to help you find it easily. For information about any of these beaches, visit the Great Lakes website - a really valuable site for all local insights.

There are four beaches at Seal Rocks:

Number One Beach - great for kids surfing and a fantastic family beach

Boat Beach - lovely beach that's usually very flat and perfect for little ones

Lighthouse Beach - for the 4WD enthusiast or beach fisherman

Treachery - the beach serious surfers frequent. Permanent rips makes this an appropriately named beach, so be careful. Park at the caravan park and walk in.

There are also four beaches between Blueys and Elizabeth Beaches:

Bluey's Beach - long, quiet beach that is now better known for the properties that overlook it than for the beach itself. Some people call this "Mosman Beach", but I don't know if that's an insult or a compliment

Boomerang Beach - classic mid-north coast beach just two minutes from Bluey's

Shelly Beach - a very small, very private beach just around Seagull Point from Boomerang. You walk in to this beach, but it's only a five minute hike. And it's nude...

Elizabeth Beach - the only permanently patrolled beach in the district. Great for families, with a good swell and break when the conditions are right.

Finally there's the local secret - Cellito Beach. Favoured for the lack of fellow beach-goers, and loved by beach fisherman, surfers and four wheel drivers.
