Bungwahl Liquor and General Store, serving Wattley Hill near Seal Rocks and Bluey's Beach

GROCERIES

All the basics can be found within 10 - 20 minutes of Wattley Hill, but visitors should be aware the nearest major supermarket is 40 minutes away in Forster. That said, there are some great butchers, bakers, fishmongers and produce providers in the area, so you'll never want for lack of food.

The exciting news in our area came in late 2019 with the opening of a big FoodWorks in Charlotte Bay. Evidence that 20 years of patience pays off! So head on over to see their brand spanking new supermarket that's big enough to stock everything you'll need.

Beyond that, and in no particular order:

Bungwahl shop is your nearest spot for the basics like bread, milk, bait, frozen foods, basic groceries, booze and fuel.

Seal Rocks General Store has a similar range to Bungwahl Shop, without the booze or the fuel. But they do operate as a post office (I believe).

Smith's Lake Shops has almost everything you'd need - a butcher, a baker, a small supermarket, a bottle shop and a cafe (though sadly no candle-stick maker).

Onto Bluey's, then, where you'll find a small supermarket, a chemist, a homewares shop, a cafe and a bottle shop that also has some interesting and high quality deli items.

But back towards Wattley Hill, don't miss Great Lakes Paddocks for real local, high quality produce and locally made wine. This place is a real find!
